Database connection issues

Post by fullhouse » 26 Mar 2019, 12:28

Hello,

the syslog of our system is showing errors concerning the mysql connection about every half an hour:

OTRS-otrs.Console.pl-Maint::Ticket::FulltextIndexRebuildWorker-12 Lost connection to MySQL server during query, SQL: '
OTRS-otrs.Console.pl-Maint::Ticket::FulltextIndexRebuildWorker-12 MySQL server has gone away, SQL: '

I tried changing variables like wait_timeout, interactive_timeout, connect_timeout etc. but that didn't help. Any ideas where those errors are coming from?

Hi,

Lost connection (MySQL server has gone away) is usually MySQL issue. It is too slow, or min package size is wrong or network down.

You have to look into mysql :(

    Alright, thanks for the reply.
I was hoping this might be a known issue within otrs because I can't figure out a way to solve it troubleshooting mysql issues.

    Hi,

Check kernel messages for kernel OOM killer, MySQL error log, etc.

No, it's most probably mysql. OTRS is doing something that exceeds MySQL parameters.
