change OTRS server

I want change my slackware OTRS 2.2.3 server with another physical machine which has installed Debian 6.0 Squeeze and OTRS 3.0.5 - only importing the old database -
I would create ex-novo the configuration.

What steps I have to follow to make the task?
I have to upgrade the old OTRS to 2.4?
And then? Can I first install new OTRS in Debian?

Hi Ni-Cola,

At the moment we have a slight issue with upgrading which means that you basically have to go to these steps:

• Extract OTRS 2.4
• Run database upgrade script for 2.2 > 2.3
• Run upgrade .pl file
• Run database POST upgrade script for 2.2 > 2.3
• Same steps for 2.3 > 2.4
• Extract OTRS 3.0
• Run database upgrade script for 2.4 > 3.0
• Run upgrade .pl file
• Run database POST upgrade script for 2.4 > 3.0

So there's an extra intermediate step, only applicable when you go from 2.2 to 3.0, which is extracting the 2.4 sources.
