Hello!
I am using an Ubuntu Server with OTRS 2.4.7.
All went fine in the beggining. I found a debian package to install the application on its version 2.4.7 and I had no problems.
Now I would like to upgrade to some 3.0 release, but i can't find any debian package.
Is there any source? I searched and I couldnt find. Was it a mistake to install a debian source, since the releases are in .rpm?
Is it a good idea to make a conversion .rpm -> .deb and install it on my server?
Any help is welcome, since i am new to the OTRS world!
Thanks a lot!

By the way I know I can install it by my own installing the source and following the upgrade instructions, but I would prefer to avoid the hassle.
Another question I have is... How long does it usually take since a new version is available in .rpm to become available in .deb?
Thanks in advance!

Just install it by source. Seriously, only takes a few minutes, and the installation text file is really well written. I've installed it on my Ubuntu 10.04 machine and it works like a charm doing it from source.

Hi
I have also used the source to install in ubuntu 10.04, previously tried the correct rpm's for opensuse, centos 5 and all had problmes with various dependancies in PERL, such as soap-lite.
I will continue to use the source files as very confident these will install without issues.
regards
Ian
