Setting Up SMTP

I am trying to setup My SMTP connection for my otrs installation but dont know how to proceed. I read the manual but dont understand what it is telling me to do. Can someone help me with a step by step instruction set? Thanks.

so... have you ever set up an email client (outlook express, thunderbird, etc)? You're pretty much on track for setting up SMTP. Generally speaking, you'd get this information from your ISP and plug it in the config...

What is the config is it the config.pm file? if so how do I plug in the info. I am not a programmer so if i have to enter information into the text file I would have to be spoon fed. is there an example that I can see so I can be guided?

If the config is an interface then which one should I use?

For Fetching Mails: http://doc.otrs.org/2.4/en/html/x1352.html

For sending them: http://doc.otrs.org/2.4/en/html/c1572.html

You'll need to use the Admin Frontend and the SysConfig in the admin Frontend

I am still a bit lost as to how to get to "Framework::Core::Sendmail". What does the four seperator dots mean and where can I find Framework?

I have seen this stuff in the admin manual but am lost as to how to proceed.
