Hi,
from /opt/otrs/kernel/Config/Defaults.pm I could see (and I tested) it is possible to map ActiveDirectory groups into OTRS groups (and also into OTRS roles) for Agents sync purposes.
I would like to know if the same is somehow feasible for Customers users as well.
I already mapped my customers from AD to OTRS but I would like to assign them automatically to some specific OTRS groups, depending on their belonging to ActiveDirectory groups. That is ... instead of using the same list of default groups for any customer I would like to assign them to a different list of default groups, according to the ActiveDirectory group to which they belong.
May you please help me?
Thank you in advance,
Giulio

Re: map LADP/ActiveDirectory groups into OTRS groups for customers
mmh... gotcha
I am presently managing to do it with a script that browse users in ActiveDirectory, check their groups and then tries to add them to the corresponding OTRS groups.
As soon as I have some results I'll post here below...

Re: map LADP/ActiveDirectory groups into OTRS groups for customers
Reason: it's *generally* not necessary to assign users to groups.

If you are able to do so, you can ACL on a given LDAP attribute that's Map'd.
