Hello Community,
since there are many people, having problems with creating the LDAP-Configuration for the config-pm, I decided to create a program with a graphical UI.
The outcome was: OTRS Active Directory Config Creator.
Short description:
Graphical Userinterface to create your configuration to authenticate your OTRS customers against an Microsoft Active Directory.
Includes functions to retrieve the required information automatically, in order to simplfiy the creation process.
Furthermore all required fields are privided with extra helptexts to make a significant contribution to understanding
Programminglanguage is C#. You need at least .NET Framework 3.5 installed.

I really would appreciate a feedback
Greetings

Re: Graphical Active Directory Config Creator
I am trying the tool to create the config file!
What do you mean by Sourcename?
BaseDN? --> is that the OU where I added users who should have customer access?
i'm new to LDAP configuring.. I am using our domain controller with AD as source, no LDAP needs to be activated on that part right?
Also: after editting the config.pm file I need to restart any services on the OTRS server?

The sourcename is showed in your OTRS customer module on the left side. It is most useful if you have multiple authentication sources e.g. another database or ldap-source
Picture(german): You can get additional information by pressing "?" at the top and selecting the label you need info about.
Yes the BaseDN to read the customer data is the "location" where your customers are structured.
To make sure that OTRS takes effect of the changes I would restart the services, but if you take a look at the log you can see that they are restarted automatically after changing the config.pm
