[SOLVED] Znuny doesn't "know" Alma Linux (9).

Post by kevindebie »

I have a small hand full of OTRS/Znuny instances that I run on CentOS 7.
These are LXC containers on Proxmox.
With CentOS's demise less then a year away i've started moving them over to Alma Linux.

This works fine, only thing I noticed on the AdminSupportDataCollector page it marks the OS as Red as it doesn't recognize it.
Does this demand attention or will this be adressed in some future update?

My process for the move is creating a new container based Alma Linux 9.
Installing all required packages (perl and otherwise), as per this znuny doc. Using RPM.

When RPM install is done I just copy /opt/otrs directory over from old to new, check permissions, and start it back up. (database runs on seperate box so no work required here)

This works like a charm, with just this as an exception.

Hi,

It's not Znuny that ignores it, it's the CPAN module Linux::Distribution which is not updated. We have bundled the latest release 0.23:

- https://metacpan.org/pod/Linux::Distribution

- Roy
Znuny and Znuny LTS running on CentOS / RHEL / Debian / SLES / MySQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle / OpenLDAP / Active Directory / SSO

Use a test system - always.

Do you want to contribute or want to know where it goes ?

Ah, this module just hasn't been touched for years.
Thanks for the info!
