What Redhat/Rocky Linux version supported with current /7/ RPMs

Post by markdiss »

I've checked the documentation for Znuny 7.x and can't see any mention of which version of RedHat or Rocky Linux the current RPMs in the 7 folder are supported on. With RH7 reaching EOL in June 2024 it'd be nice to see our option for migrating to a newer OS, ideally Rocky Linux 9.

It would probably be a good idea to add this to the documentation as well.

Mark.

Hi,

You usually can use tar.gz files as well.

I can not speak for the developpers but it might be, providing OS specific rpm or deb packages is maybe not easy to maintain as developpers have to provide them for SuSE, Redhat, Debian/Ubuntu or whatever, as well.

I can speak for myself only, and i do not use rpms since my first days as there were often issues during upgrades. there were many manual
steps to be performed the rpm could not handle (or did not handle)

My personal recommendation is: use the tar file

Znuny 7.x latest version testing auf Debian 11
