Import mails from one mailbox instantly

Post by flippertom »

Hello,

We are using OTRS 5.
We have configured 10 mailboxes in the system. Requirement is to import mails from one of the mailboxes instantly and others should be imported via the cron job.
Any way to do this?

Regards,
Tom.

Hi,

Switch to SMTP/Procmail for the related mail account.

Znuny and Znuny LTS running on CentOS / RHEL / Debian / SLES / MySQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle / OpenLDAP / Active Directory / SSO

Use a test system - always.

Thank you for the suggestion. Any pointers on how to start with this?
I'm already searching on the internet but cannot find clear steps to do this.

Hi,

Just a few steps away, but more Linux than OTRS related:
  • Configure local MTA, e.g. Postfix, to accept e-mails from "outside" and deliver e-mails to local users via procmail
  • Secure your MTA :-)
  • Check the .procmailrc in the OTRS user's home dir and adjust as needed
  • Forward all e-mails of the requested mailbox to otrs@FQDN
