WildCards search is an advanced tech in Perl language and OTRS System.
I could not understand why you don't like this advanced feature?

Re: Disable WildCards In search
One scenario I can think of would be that the user is trying to search for a string that contains a wildcard character. Escaping the wildcard would effectively disable it in that instance.
Using escape characters may be an impediment to the users if a significant number of the searches they perform contain Perl/SQL/OTRS wildcards, so I can see why they might want it to be disabled. That % * or . is a wildcard might be obvious to you or I, but they're not universal.
