Arrival time tickets

Post by fcarvajal »

Good afternoon, I'm new to OTRS, and I just installed it in my company. We have done some tests and everything is going well.
We have only noticed that when sending e-mail tickets, it takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes to reach the queue tray to which it is sent.

Could you indicate where or how you could change this parameter, so that the tickets arrive immediately?

Mail is not a realtime service. But you can change the valides for the daemon which fetch the mails
"Production": OTRS™ 8, OTRS™ 7, STORM powered by OTRS
"Testing": ((OTRS Community Edition)) and git Master

Hi,

As jojo mentioned e-mail is a asynchronous service, check the RFC for smtp. But you can avoid the delay of the fetching interval by switching from pulling the e-mail to receiving them via the procmail metho.d

Perfect thank you very much for the help and the answers, I already saw which is the demon where it is changed.

Could you tell me if there is a problem putting it to 1 minute ?, or what is the minimum recommendation that can be put?

Hi,

My recommendation: switch away from pulling emails and use direct smtp with procmail.

Perfect, I'll try to configure procmail. I have never done it but there I saw some information on the web.

I could help with the last query. In these days we have tested, we feel that OTRS is much slower than before, especially when creating new tickets.
Will there be some recommendations for OTRS to have the best possible state?
I do not think it's the server since at first it was very fast, besides it has 4 cores and 8 of ram, I think enough for a linux
