Read-Only access to Admin areas or Agent details

Hi,

Is there any functionality that allows an agent read-only access to say the "Agents" module?. I'd like our Helpdesk to be able to check whether or not an Agent is in the system, but don't want them to be able to make any changes. Unfortunately when granting access to the Agents module they can edit details and Switch to other agents.

I have thought about using the SQL Box to query for the user ID, but again this opens up the possibility they could run other queries to see data they shouldn't.

Has anyone come across this problem and found a solution?
