"Closed" tickets still displaying as open

Hello,

I am pretty new to OTRS and I have a problem with tickets - I have set up that they close automatically after pending auto status. This works beautifully - tickets change the status from pending auto to closed successfully (type closed) as they should however after the agent logs in all those tickets are still displayed on the list of open tickets (which shouldn't be the case). So far I have lost on this problem one day and I would really appreciate the help on this as I really don't know what I am doing wrong.
