Submitting Change in CMDB Not working in Chrome

Post by jschlueter »

Hello,

When using the Chrome Browser and I try editing an asset in CMDB and I hit save. Nothing happens. I have noticed this just in the last few days. If edit a ticket and hit submit it works just fine. If I use Mozilla, it works. Any ideas how what is causing this and how I can get it resolved? Thanks for the help

Were using version 4.0.4 (I know we are way behind on releases)

I am seeing the same behavior, but it seems to be limited to creating new, and changing existing, CI entries. I can make add new new general catalog items and attributes as well as agents and customers. Everything is saved in the database except configuration items additions and changes.

Very strange.

Many thanks for the Firefox browser tip! It saved my sanity.

Same problem here with Chrome.

Does someone know how to solve it?

This could be related to the outdated OTRS version and the up-to-date browser. Do you have the chance to test ist with an newer version? At least the latest Patchlevel 4.0.18?

The problem is definitely with the latest Chrome version 54.0.2840.71m. Not only am I having this problem in OTRS 5.0.13, it is almost manifesting itself in our OTRS 4.0.7 system. I confirmed this by uninstalling the latest version of Chrome and installing an older version (53.0.2785.143 m) - no problems with adding items to or changing items in the CMDB.

NOTE: Starting Chrome will automatically run an update. Before starting Chrome you can disable Chrome updates by renaming "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update" folder to another name ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\NOUpdate" works nicely). After you start Chrome, bring up Help > About Chrome to verify Chrome has not been updated. There are other methods to disable updates, but I find this one works.

As previously mentioned, Mozilla Firefox does not have this problem.

Does anyone know why this "submit" button is different than all of the other "submit" buttons. Just not understanding why other areas are working just not this one? Thanks
