Handling SLA

Dear Friends,

I have read some posts on this but thought of getting uptodate news on this.

SLA timing counts from the ticket create date/time. I have a new ticket sate "Waiting". I can configure to auto change SLA when ticket state changes to "Waiting". However, waiting time does not count when I put the ticket back to "Open" state

I would like to know how you all handle this situation without investing on a commercial addon.

OTRS 6.0.x (private/testing/public) on Linux with MySQL database.
