pop3 and smtp not working on GMAIL

Hye,

Guys whatever domain emails i present on otrs it works except for gmail.

i tried pop3,pop3s, imap,imaps, smtp smtps , changes ports , you name it . and its still not working.



anyone might know why it aint working?

please check on network level if you can access gmail and check with google what protocols are allowed

gmail is working fine, pinged pop.gmail.com and its working fine. can access gmail normally

Ping is not a network check for ports.

The following ports and protocols can be used:

Warning: Hostname pop.gmail.com resolves to 2 IPs. Using 173.194.70.108.
PORT STATE SERVICE
25/tcp open smtp
465/tcp open smtps
587/tcp open submission
993/tcp open imaps


So you have to use for sending
SMTP via Port 25 (not suggested)
SMTPS via Port 465
SMTPTLS via Port 25 or 587


For fetching only IMAPS can be used.

the imap port is fixed in OTRS. if you choose IMAPS the correct port will be used. you can use pop.gmail.com

ok buddy worked great.

apparently because i had my gmail set on 2 verification systems, one being a password and other ver. system is sending me a pin everytime i need to log , otrs didnt work.


so i just i changed the email .

If you're doing gmail 2 factor authentication, you will want an application specific password.
