When linking a ticket to a CI (for example) it is possible to search against the CI# or the Name of the CI. Is it possible to expand this search to include other CI fields, much like the search function from the CMDB menu? We would find it convenient, for example, to search against a Serial Number field.
I know the data is stored in the xml tables which can make searching more of a challenge, but we need to be able to find our assets when linking them to tickets - either by finding the CI record using the search facility and then creating a new ticket linked to the CI record (see my topic http://forums.otrs.org/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=13502) or by having a better search facility when linking from the ticket. Our current option - creating the ticket separately then finding the CI and linking it manually - is time-consuming and inelegant, especially while on the phone with the customer (agents often wind up capturing tickets onto paper rather than keep the customer waiting).

Re: Expand Search Options on Linking
Sorry to "bump" this one, but does anybody have any ideas?
