Die xxx hat die erste Beta der neuen Version 3.0 der unter AGPL vertriebenen Helpdesk-Lösung OTRS veröffentlicht. Wesentliche Neuerung ist die komplett überarbeitete Bedienoberfläche, die laut dem Unternehmen auf der Grundlage umfassender Usability-Studien und Interviews mit Anwendern konzipiert wurde.
Durch die Neuorganisation inhaltlich zusammengehöriger Bereiche sollen Arbeitsabläufe optimiert, durch das neue Design die Barrierefreiheit verbessert werden. Außerdem wurden die Volltext-Suche über den Datenbestand und die Archivierungsfunktion verbessert. OTRS 3.0 Beta 1 steht als RPM-Paket für OpenSuse und SLES 10 und 11, Fedora ab Core 4 und RHEL/CentOS 4.5 sowie als Windows-Installationspaket und im Quelltext zum Download zur Verfügung. (odi)
