Re: Release Notes: OTRS Help Desk 3.3.4, 3.2.14 and 3.1.19

Great job on 3.3. We just upgraded from 3.2 and I'm getting great feedback from the users.

Re: Time Stop after worktime is possible?

It is possible to stop the aging of a ticket. You will need to define the work hours for the operation in the Sysconfig. Some helpful advice, if your workday ends at 5pm, select 4pm. The system interprets 4 as 4:01pm up to 4:59pm.

Re: OTRS hardware and performance

Depending on the number of articles per ticket and the number of tickets per day, your DB size can vary. Our DB is currently around 600 MB in size and contains over 40k tickets. Our article share is over 26 GB in size (primarily due to the size of file attachments in the email). The specs provided a...

Re: Backing Up a Windows OTRS Deployment

Which batch file were you attempting to create? I listed two in this post.

Is it unable to follow the path to the mysqldump.exe or the 7z.exe?

Re: Reinstallation of OTRS on Windows machine

If you use the Uninstall program that comes with OTRS, it will wipe the program off of the machine (including DB and file storage). You can reboot and the install the new version if you are not planning to keep any of the prior data.

Re: Reinstallation of OTRS on Windows machine

You should be able to keep all the data, but you will want to have the proper backups. You will then need to install the new version and run some DB upgrade scripts to bring your 3.0 DB up to 3.1 specs. Here is a link to a YouTube video explaining the process: http://youtu.be/sf0R-reMTWc The video i...

Possible Anomaly when updating

When upgrading our 3.1.4 system to 3.1.5, I was faced with an error stating otrs@localhost was denied access using password YES. I changed the DB password for the otrs user to be YES and the system loaded. Then, when accessing an old article, the same error occurred. I changed the DB password locate...

Re: Linux vs Windows

Having used both, I think the latest Windows version is on par with the Linux distributions of the past. I first tried to deploy the Windows version a few years back and ran into random memory errors. I was unable to pinpoint the problem, but it may have been Apache related. That prompted me to go t...

Backing Up a Windows OTRS Deployment

I thought I'd share this information here, since it took me some hunting around and trial and error to sort out. I'm not too familiar with working with MySQL or backing it up, but I put together a rudimentary batch file to accomplish this. Maybe it can serve to help someone else. I will also preface...
